Winter Break Plans

Image
It's Finals Week here at South! It's my first one, and although I am a little nervous about my first round of college finals, I'm really looking forward to finishing a great first semester and starting winter break.      I'm so excited for the holiday season at home. I'm really looking forward to helping my family decorate the tree (even though they are a bit late!). Every year, my sister and cousins go to my grandma's house to make cookies and build a gingerbread house. I might be a little old for that now, but the cookies are SO good I can't resist. There's nothing better than a grandma's baking.      Another Christmas festivity I'm excited about is the light show. We go to New Orleans to see all the Christmas lights in City Park. It is a tradition for my whole family- grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, siblings, and all. It's always so much fun and a great way to catch up with my family.    ...

My Life as a Biomedical Sciences Student!

Hey, future jags! Some of you may know exactly what you want to major in, and some of you may have no clue. Don't worry! It's okay if you fit into either of these categories. For me, I was pretty confident that I wanted to major in Biomedical Sciences on the pre-medical track. In case you're looking into what you want to major in, here is some insight for my life as a Biomedical Sciences student. Although I am in my first year, I have learned these 5 things about Biomedical Sciences... 1. It prepares you for medical school. The Biomedical Sciences major is a popular one for pre-med students like myself. The requirements for pre-med school are embedded into the curriculum needed for the major, so it is easy to stay on track for your degree and for pre-professional school.                                    ...

A Week at South

This week, I'm coming back to USA from fall break. I loved spending time off with friends and family, but it is now time to get back into the swing of things! My week includes going to class, studying, working out, hanging out with friends, and last but not least, USA Day. As mid-term season comes to a wrap, I'm working on keeping my grades up this week especially. Every day, I make sure I go to class and study afterwards. I also make sure I have time with friends to balance out the stress with some fun! I'm going to go to a fun Halloween event on campus this week and also go get a pumpkin to stay festive! :) Lastly, I'll be going to my first USA Day as a jag guide! I'm super excited to meet with future students and their families and celebrate the spirit of South Alabama. I would definitely recommend this event to anyone interested in South or looking into college. Can't wait!
